I bought a job lot of old DeWALT power tools and reconditioned them as a hobby. I bought some cheap Chinese NiMH batteries and a charger for them, but the battery doesn't not seem to last long. I have cleaned the outside and the insides of all the tools, regreased the gearboxes checked the carbon brushes (all of them have plenty life left in them) The tools work great and I have tested them out on a project involving drilling steel and masonry and driving screws and bolts. I would highly recommend using genuine DeWALT batteries or decent compatible batteries.
